As the warning to Julius Caesar went, “Beware the Ides of March.” Here in the Burbank Delta, we’re not scared that easily. In fact, we’re getting a head start on the Ides of March - in February – and we’re moving quickly to keep great music coming to y’all. Little Dog had a tremendous 2007 – in fact, both albums we released last year, “Different Groove” by Adam Hood and “ Already Moved On” by Moot Davis, landed on USA TODAY’s year-end “Best Of” list. Not a bad! We’re now tackling 2008 with a head full of steam and a pocket full of pennies (to quote the Moot Davis song). Big things are on the horizon. Stay Tuned. And now the news …
Moot Davis
If you’ve been checking the brand new Little Dog Records Blog, you’ll know that Moot Davis’ new album Already Moved On was named one of the best albums of 2007 by publications including The Dallas Morning News, The San Antonio Express, TakeBackCountry.com, and (as we mentioned) USA Today! And regarding Moot’s current whereabouts, well the distinguished Mr. Davis finds himself south of the equator in exotic New Zealand. That’s right, after a hiatus and a short relocation to Nashville, Moot Davis, who doubles as a master thesbian, is traveling down under to appear in a play.
When Moot finished performing at Country Gold Japan, the largest country festival of it’s type in the Far East, we asked promoter/owner/headliner of the festival Charlie Nagatani for a quote about our very own Honky-Tonk Hurricane. His reply was, “All of Japan weeps for Moot Davis’ return”. Well, now we can say that all of American weeps for Moot’s return as the torchbearer of hard-edged honky-tonk music. But don’t be faint of heart - we’re expecting Moot back in the Spring to continue to shake things up.

Adam Hood
Moot’s album wasn’t the only one to collect year-end accolades. Adam Hood’s album Different Groove was also highly-praised. Adam racked up Best Of ’07 honors from Lonestarmusic, Gruene with Envy, and USA Today! Adam was also nominated for four Gruene with Envy Awards including Artist of the Year. The Gruene with Envy Awards honor the best in Texas music. Make sure to vote for Adam on the Gruene with Envy website.
When Adam was out here in California filming the music video for his hit single “22 Days Too Long”, we took him into the studio and recorded some live video footage performing and telling the stories behind the songs from his album, Different Groove. The footage was so compelling that Concert.TV took notice and now through February 15th if you have Comcast, Cox, Charter, or Insight’s Digital Cable service, you can watch the footage for yourself! It’s compelling stuff that you won’t want to miss.
Adam recently found himself in California once again filming his next music video. We can’t tell you much now (or else we’d have to waterboard you), but we have some stills from the shoot up on the Little Dog Blog for everyone who wants a sneak peek.
Pete Anderson
Pete Anderson has been hard at work writing and recording material for his upcoming new solo record. All we can tell you is that it’s shaping up to be an unprecedented achievement and one of the “can’t miss” records of the decade.
Pete has also been working with Reverend Guitars designing a Custom Pete Anderson signature guitar. The Pete Anderson Reverend guitar prototype debuted at the NAMM show last month and was immediately hailed as one of the “NAMM picks” by Guitar Player Magazine. Excellence isn’t a rare occurrence here at Little Dog, it’s a way of life, and Pete showed once again that no matter what he’s doing, it’s going to be great.
