Official Year End Press Release
For Immediate Release
LITTLE DOG RECORDS ARTISTS MAKE THE SCENE
ON MULTIPLE YEAR-END “BEST OF” LISTS
– Adam Hood and Moot Davis Are Recognized by Respected Music Writers —
Independent label Little Dog Records made some noise in 2007 with the release of two highly- acclaimed albums, DIFFERENT GROOVE by Adam Hood and ALREADY MOVED ON by Moot Davis. At year’s end, both artists were recognized for their talents on a number of “Best Of” lists by top music writers.
Both Moot and Adam were included in the list compiled by Ken Barnes of “USA Today.”
Moot was also included on “Best Of” lists by Mario Tarradell of the “Dallas Morning News,” and John Goodspeed of the “San Antonio Express-News.” Additionally, Moot was included in the “Best Of” year-end list of cutting- edge online site, TakeCountryBack.com.
In addition to “USA Today,” Adam Hood was featured in the Top Ten list of the popular Texas music website, Gruene With Envy.
“We are extremely proud of our artists,” said producer/label owner Pete Anderson. “We released two albums last year and both were met with critical reviews and tremendous acceptance. As an independent label, this is very important in getting the word out on our artists and I want to thank all of the writers who continue to step out and support us.”
ALREADY MOVED ON picks up where Moot’s debut album left off, embodying timeless songwriting, a definite “attitude,” and a certain edge that lets the listener know this is no throwback to an earlier time. It’s music that reflects the past while setting the bar for the future. Mr. Tarradell, who was one of the first writers to recognize Moot’s unique talents after the release of his first, self-titled album, crowned him the “modern-day King of the Honky-Tonks.” Mr. Barnes of “USA Today” has noted that, “Sharing a producer with early Dwight Yoakam, Davis benefits from that tough, Bakersfield-derived sound and it’s an impressive album.”
Adam Hood is coming off an incredibly successful year. DIFFERENT GROOVE was released to tremendous acclaim. Noted guitar journalist Andy Ellis wrote, “Adam Hood’s ‘Different Groove’ is a compelling mix of tightly crafted songs, country-tinged roadhouse rock, and big, ringing guitars. His lyrics tell the story of a young man exploring life, love, and music on the road, and what happens to his innocence in the smoky bars he plays along the way.” TakeCountryBack.com simply exclaimed that the album is “A MUST add to your collection!’” Adam scored a hit single on the Texas Music Chart with “22 Days Too Long” and the corresponding video continues to enjoy national airplay on GAC-TV. He was also featured at the prestigious Austin City Limits Festival and was seen as part of a retail campaign by hip Red Dirt Music-inspired clothing line Southern Thread. Additionally, Adam appeared in an episode of “We’re An American Band” on the Documentary Channel.
Adam also picked up some high-profile fans along the way including country star Miranda Lambert who said, “As a singer/songwriter I am constantly looking for new music that inspires me. I have found someone that does just that. His name is Adam Hood. His music is as raw and real as his Alabama accent. He is what country music should be. I saw him while vacationing in Gruene, Texas with just him and his guitar. He captivated me. He has so much soul, great delivery and the looks to match. He should and will be around for a long time.”
ALREADY MOVED ON and DIFFERENT GROOVE were produced by Grammy Award-winning producer/guitarist Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam, Roy Orbison, k.d.lang, Buck Owens, Flaco Jimenez, Sara Evans, Jim Lauderdale).
Moot Davis, Adam Hood, and Pete Anderson are available for interviews in support of their records. We look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your support.
